Chachi Jeevani Devi Dabas was married to chacha Jai Lal Dalal. She was the daughter of Chaudhary Nathu Singh of village Sultanpur Dabas in Delhi State. She was from a very renowned and respectable Arya Samaj family and her grandfather Ch. Jeet Ram (popularly known as sufed posh) was very wise and influential person. He was lamberdar of the village and was a soft spoken, caring and very helpful person. She was a very affectionate mother and brought up her children very well despite being un-educated herself. She was exceptionally hardworking and a very good house holder. After her marriage, chacha Jai Lal felt free to attend to his official work without any domestic worry. She had the unique habit of keeping herself busy in her home and not wasting time in gossips. She was very fond of milch cattle, which she kept throughout except when Jai Lal was posted at Chandigarh.
Though not formally educated yet she understood the value of education very well. She gave high priority to educate the daughters and due to her uncompromised efforts both the daughters did M.A. in English. It was the result of her continuous efforts that her daughter Kamla topped in the Punjab State Civil Services (PCS) Examination in erstwhile Punjab, who was the first Jat girl from Haryana to achieve this position. Similarly second daughter Usha became a lecturer and retired as Principal of Government College, Gurugram.
She was a great help to bhai Parkash, whom she supported in farming and stayed with him at Kurukshtra. She and her husband also supported his nephews to stay with them for higher education. She was very efficient and cheerful home maker and kind hearted person who contributed for education of the next generation.
